An Israeli born designer has created a $500,000 24-carat gold ring that's wrapped in his own skin. Warning: the video is seriously graphic.
Are you currently weighing up your options for lunch? If so, then you probably shouldn’t watch the video above as it shows a man letting a doctor cut off a lump of his skin all in the name of fashion. Yeah, it’s pretty gross.
The menswear designer in question, Sruli Recht, thought it would be a great idea to add a piece of his own skin to his latest jewellery design called "Forget Me Knot".
Recht, an Israeli born Australian citizen who’s current based in Reykjavík, Iceland, debuted the skin ring at the Paris Men’s Fashion Week this week to the shock and horror of many – including us.
While designers have previously used human hair and various skin-like materials to make fashion pieces, this could well be the first time that someone has used real human skin in the name of fashion.
Would you wear someone else’s skin for $500,000? We wouldn’t.
