Pic: Adidas have released the world’s first all-in-one football boot and sock hybrid. You heard us.

If this works, it might just be the greatest invention in the history of football boots.

Regardless of the quality of the boot itself, the simple convenience of being able to put a sock and a boot on in one go is bound to appeal to the thousands upon thousands of lazy footballers out there. And no laces either? Sweet. On a more serious note, Adidas released the first teaser image of the Primeknit FS boot today, a boot they claim – and we doubt there’ll be much disputing of the claim – is the world’s first all-in-one football boot and sock hybrid.

  Details are a little thin on the ground as yet, but we do know that the upper part of the boot will be made of knitted material similar to the Adidas Samba Primeknit boot, which was launched last week and will be worn by Luis Suarez in Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United the weekend after next. We’re sure it’s purely a coincidence that Adidas revealed details of their new sock-boot on the same day that Nike are due to launch their Magista boot, which is rumoured to be similar in fabric and design to the Adidas Samba Primeknit version. Obviously there’s not a whole lot to go on as of yet, but as we always do when revealing details of new boots, we have to ask whether the new boot gets a yay or a nay from JOE readers?
