Sir Cliff Richard wins the worst dressed award hands down at Wimbledon
The players have to adhere to a strict dress code at Wimbledon and it’s a pity such a policy doesn’t extend to those in the crowd.
If that was the case, the millions of people watching the men’s singles final between Roger Federer and Andy Murray wouldn’t have had to witness the sight of Cliff Richard in a jacket so awful that even the fairly eloquent BBC commentators were stunned into silence.

Is it meant to be a Union Jack(et)? Has Sir Cliff gone a little colour blind in his little old age? Whatever excuse he might have, it’s surely not enough to save him from ridicule for this get-up. In fact, not even one of his customary crowd sing-songs will salvage his reputation after this.
While Sir Cliff was part of the packed crowd at SW19, things were a little different in Belfast, where a big screen was erected for crowds who wanted to watch the tennis in the open-air and sample some atmosphere while they were at it.
Or so they would have thought. Although there was room enough for 2,000 spectators, according to a tweet doing the rounds a little earlier, only four people had turned up.
