Man in a suit... Paul Galvin
Kerry footballer and style guru Paul Galvin doesn't wear suits that often, but when he does he's very particular and knows exactly what he likes.
"There has to be a place for suits in the modern man’s wardrobe and although I’m not the biggest suit wearer, of course I do like a nice suit.
"I’ve got a few Top Man suits. I’ve got a nice Paul Smith blazer and a Calvin Klein suit.
"My favourite suit would have to be by The Kooples (pictured), this really good French brand that’s just arrived in Ireland and that is now available in Brown Thomas.
"Their suits are very sleek and very smart, mixing French chic with Savile Row. The suits are in great colours – burgundies and browns and creams and navy.
"They’re a really nice cut. If I was going to buy a suit tomorrow then it’d be a The Kooples suit I’d be going for.
"I’d always go for suit that has a slim silhouette. There’s a man called Hedi Slimani who’s a designer for Christian Dior who creates some exceptional suits with a great silhouette that I wouldn’t mind owning.
I only wear one-button suit jackets and I’d never wear a regular suit conventionally. I’d always contrast the jacket if I could.
"I’m not a big fan of ties. Given the choice I’d just button up my shirt and wouldn’t wear a tie."
