Want One

Eye-Fi Pro x 2 Wireless Memory Card
Probably the smallest gadget we will ever display under the want one category, but as you might say about Lionel Messi, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in ability. The Eye-Fi Pro x 2 is the first wireless memory card and saves you the trouble of having to physically upload photos onto your computer by using wireless technology to do it for you.
Once you have got the initial set up out of the way, the Eye-Fi will look after the rest. Simply choose the wireless networks you wish to sync with (you can choose up to 32 providing you have ID and password) and then customise what folders on your computer you want to store your camera’s content on.
The Eye-Fi also has a feature which enables you to share your photos and videos online on one of ten trusted websites including Facebook, Flickr, Picasa and YouTube.
Don’t want all your photos uploaded automatically? Not to worry, a selective transfer option enables you to pick and choose which photos you want transferred wirelessly while other customisation options include the ability to preset album names and descriptions.
A geotagging service (only available on selected cards) tags the location of your photo, enabling to search for your photos by location on a map on certain desktop and internet programmes, i.e. iPhoto and Flickr.
By selecting the ‘Endless Memory’ mode, the Eye-Fi will automatically delete photos and videos from the card once they have been wirelessly transferred, once again saving you the trouble of having to do it yourself.
Prices start at around €60 for a 2GB version of the card and the Eye-Fi is compatible with most cameras. To check whether your camera is compatible go to the Eye-Fi website http://uk.eye.fi/#
