Ad of the Week: The Kinect Effect

There was a time when Microsoft, despite its astonishing worldwide reach, was looked upon slightly condescendingly by those in the know.

But that was then. Kinect for Xbox 260 has been with us for a year, and it continues to outdo itself with its sales around the world.

It set a Guinness World Record for fastest selling consumer device of all time last Christmas, when eight million units flew off the shelves, outstripping the iPads and iPhones of Microsoft’s old foes across in Apple.

And this new ad (above, produced by San Francisco’s twofifteenmccann agency and launched last weekend) had us slavering anew over all things Kinect.
