Did you like Angry Birds? Then get ready for Bad Piggies

26/09/2012 6:45 pm

If Rovio can have even the fraction of success they enjoyed with Angry Birds with new release Bad Piggies, then they’ll be laughing.

Cleverly not straying too far away with the name of their new title, tomorrow marks the release of Bad Piggies, the follow-up to the hugely successful – and for some hugely annoying – Angry Birds, possibly the most addictive game in the history of smartphones.

Like Angry Birds, the premise to Bad Piggies is pretty simple, but rather than flinging angry birds with various different flight patterns towards assorted targets and perishable structures, Bad Piggies involves moving a pig to different points on a map to collect items and reach a goal. Like we said, simple.

Well it’s not that easy, but rather than spending loads of time attempting to explain how it works, we’ll make it easier for you and for me and direct your attention towards the instructional trailer at the top of the page for an idea as to how it works.

At first glance, you’ll realise that it looks remarkably similar to Angry Birds, but if this new title goes onto make loads of money and become so popular that it spawns a theme park of its own, we doubt Rovio will be too bothered about its familiarity with its predecessor.

Only time will tell whether it can replicate the success of Angry Birds, but we should have a good idea judging by the response to its release.

Bad Piggies will be available for iOS, Mac and Android devices from tomorrow.
