Recruitment opportunies for Twitter positions in East London are pointing heavily towards the micro-blogging site's new UK offices, a boon that IDA Ireland had pursued vigorously last year.
Twitter had been scouting potential locations to establish a "small presence" in Europe, with IDA confident that Dublin's reputation as a hub for social networking and technology firms and Ireland's low corporation tax could help land the deal.
Vacancies for a sales account manager, sales executive and business development mobile/electronics and communications manager for an East London location, all posted on the Twitter recruitment feed, appear to confirm that the prized office will be in the UK instead.
The launch of a London office has been heavily rumoured and as yet has not been officially confirmed by Twitter. The job opportunities are thought to surround upcoming Facebook-style branded pages for the site, which has shown difficulty in successfully monetising its service.
With the likes of Facebook, Google, LinkedIn and Zynga having established their European HQ in Dublin, the capital remains one of Europe's biggest technological hubs.
