Electronic Arts Games have announced the creation of 300 jobs in EA’s European Customer Experience Centre of Excellence in Galway.

EA Games are the makers of the FIFA games series, Madden and many of the other top sporting games console games that are favourites of JOE readers. They also make other titles like The Sims, Rockband and Mass Effect.

The jobs will be mainly for support of its 220million registered players in 75 countries worldwide and the latest investment in Galway will take the workforce there to 700 with most of the new jobs in multilingual support to liaise with European customers.

Avid gamer Enda Kenny (just kidding…) did say the “…decision is a real endorsement of Ireland’s ability to meet the needs of leading multinational companies in the digital media space.“

Meanwhile EA COO Peter Moore praised Ireland and Galway for the conditions it has created for EA,“Galway’s mix of technology infrastructure and talent availability, combined with a pro-business environment, will help us expand on our existing foundation here. We’re proud to be part of Ireland’s growth into cutting edge digital industries.”
