A tech savvy priest in Ireland has taken to using an iPad to say his mass. We bet he's also checking the F1 results while he's on the altar.
We’re seeing the widespread use of iPad’s in society, from primary school children to politicians and now we’re also seeing men of the cloth jumping on the high tech bandwagon.
Fr Paddy Rushe from the Redeemer parish in the Co Louth town is the clergyman in question and he has been using the tablet computer for some time now saying it’s ‘God’s gift’.
“It’s brilliant, it has apps on it where you can download the full version of the four gospels, you can download the leading prayers, you can get a 700 word missal, and you can even write your sermon on it. It is so flexible, and really it has everything a priest needs.”
Really? Everything?
It’s not the first time the holy tech wizard has been in the news either. You may remember hearing about the ‘Priest App’ that came out last year? Basically, it was a short quiz to see if you were really up to being a priest. Well,
Fr Paddy was the man behind that too.
“We have had more than 4,000 downloads so far which is good for an app new to the market, it has a quiz on it which asks relevant questions of men who may be considering joining the priesthood.”
