Instagram is going to start offering Vine-style video-sharing

Instagram have obviously been making jealous glances over at the lads in Vine as they are planning to launch their own video sharing service

Vine has been pretty successful since Twitter launched it in January of this year, and with the launch of its Android app a few weeks ago, they could reasonably expect that great growth to continue. However, it looks like they might have a bit of competition in the pipeline as Instagram are planning to launch a video sharing service themselves. Finally we will be able to see short videos of someone's food with a retro filter instead of just boring old pictures of someone's food with a retro filter. For now details are sketchy, but according to the lads at The Verge, the whole thing will be unveiled on Thursday at an event that Facebook have scheduled to release a “big idea”. With Vine going from strength to strength, Facebook will look to crush the opposition with their iron fist of internet oppression if they can, and apparently they could be looking at letting users share videos of up to ten seconds in length, which would be slightly longer than Vine.
