Somebody has designed a stun gun accessory for your iPhone

We thought we had seen every kind of iPhone accessory. Then we saw this.

You can pretty much use your iPhone for everything these days. From waking you up in the morning to tracking your sleep patterns at night, the little Apple device is fairly indispensible to most of us (other smartphones are available etc…).

Anyway, somebody in the US, of course, thought that what the iPhone needed was a way of discharging a stunning jolt of electricity to somebody, so they invented this.

Thanks to the lads over at Silicon Republic we learnt today about the world’s first iPhone 4 stun gun case. The manufacturers say that the case, which your phone sits into, carries a 650,000-volt stun gun. It also doubles up as an extra 20-hour battery pack so it’s not all bad. Just 99.9 per cent.

It also has a safety switch to prevent it from accidentally going off in your pocket, an experience which really doesn’t bear thinking about.

It goes on sale in September for the sum of $125 in the States and the company behind it plan to launch further versions for other smartphones. They also advise you to check local laws before purchase.

Thankfully stun guns are illegal in Ireland so they shouldn’t ship one to any loons here. We hope.
