A Facebook-loving couple have taken their devotion to the social networking site to its illogical conclusion - after naming their newborn child 'Like'.
Although the absurd moniker sounds like a bizarre entry for a wacky competition, Israeli parents Lior and Vardit Adler are proud of their choice.
"We named her Like because it's modern and innovative," father Lior Adler told Isreali paper Maariv. "I checked that the name does not exist elsewhere in the country, that was the main condition for me," he added.
"In our opinion it's the modern equivalent of the name Ahava (Love) he said. "It's just my way of saying to my fantastic daughter, 'love.'"
When I posted her picture and name on Facebook I got 40 'likes,'" said Lior of the name's reception online. "Considering that I have only a little more than 100 friends on the network that's a lot."
Though we struggle to imagine the schoolyard taunts poor Like Adler will have to endure in the years to come, the name pales in comparison to an Egyptian dad's decision to name his newborn daughter 'Facebook' in February.
Gamal Ibrahim told the world's press that he was inspired by the site's role in mobilising his countrymen during the Arab Spring revolutions.
Though the idea of naming your child after a social networking site is quite eccentric, we'd wager that there may well be a couple of four-year-old Irish children named Bebo, in honour of its famously short-lived dominance in the country.
There has been no official reaction from Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, though we'd wager the decision gets a thumbs up from him.
