Forget Pokemon because there are much better titles that are in dire need of a re-release. Retro gamers might just be go into a nostalgia overdrive at the sheer mention of titles like Streets of Rage, Ninja Gaiden, or Bomberman but one hedgehog has ruled supreme since 1991. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Sega's classic title Sonic the Hedgehog and to celebrate the occasion, they're releasing a brand new game that's entirely set in 2D. If you don't fancy playing as Sonic the Hedgehog then you'll be pleased to know that it's possible to play as Tails and Knuckles also. Who's ready to absolutely blitz through those levels at 100 mph? Those gold rings don't even stand a chance of surviving! The current release date for the game, which will be out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, is spring 2017.
