Diehard music fans may well be all festival-ed out of it by the end of August, but the Leeds festival is well worth a trip if you can muscle another one in there somewhere.
When it comes to UK music festivals, Glastonbury is probably held up there as the Daddy of them all but its popularity means that it’s more expensive than others and tickets are that much harder to come by. Shop around, however, and there are lots of decent alternatives across the pond such as the Reading and V Festivals and the Leeds Festival at the end of next month.
Taking place over three days at Branham Park from 23-25 August, Biffy Clyro, Green Day and Eminem are the headline acts in a packed line-up that has enough variety to suit fans of plenty of different genres and with five stages to choose from, festival-goers can mix and match throughout the weekend and even take in some comedy in the alternative stage if the mood takes them.
Apart from the headliners, the likes of System of a Down, Editors, Foals, Jake Bugg, Bastille and British Sea Power will also be doing their stuff and if camping isn’t your bag, there is information on the Leeds Festival website about available accommodation nearby where you can rest up and clean up before going at once again the following day.
With less than a month to go until the start of the festival, music lovers would want to be making plans now if they plan to attend, but at least Thomas Cook can look after everything from a travel perspective so you can put all your focus on tickets, camping arrangements, what acts you’re going to see and how many beer cans you can pack in the bag you’ll be bringing to the festival.
