Start to drop hints now lads; Inchydoney’s ‘Thrill of the Grill’ is the ultimate weekend for a Father’s Day gift.
Never mind getting your dear old Da socks this year. If your old man deserves a real treat then Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa have the package for you.
With a fine combo of BBQ food, the striking backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and a luxurious treatment in the award winning spa, this ‘Thrill of the Grill’ package covers all the bases.
The stunning beach at Inchydoney
Taking place on the weekend of June 14-16, the ‘Thrill of the Grill’ Father’s Day package is available for both men and women to enjoy from €230 (Friday & Saturday) and €220 (Saturday & Sunday) per person sharing. Guests will enjoy two nights’ accommodation in a deluxe ocean view room, a BBQ masterclass and tasting session with Mike Corcoran and a full Irish buffet breakfast each morning. The package also includes unlimited access to the heated seawater therapy pool, sauna, steam room and ocean view relaxation areas as well as access to the complimentary fruit and juice bar. Live music will be in full swing on both Friday and Saturday night in Dunes Bar within the hotel.
On Saturday, June 15 at 3pm, Pitmaster Mike Corcoran will bring his famous BBQ masterclass to the stunning surroundings of Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa, where guests will enjoy ‘grilltastic’ dishes made by the main man himself.
During the lively group demonstration, Mike will cook up a storm with all-time ‘manly’ meals; steaks, burgers, pulled pork and ribs and share his top techniques of cooking with charcoal, gas and smoking with hardwood.
Chicago native Mike picked up grill skills in the States before moving to his ancestral home of Cork, where he has become a local hero with his sought-after demonstrations. Mike is also well-known throughout Ireland and the UK for his authentic American BBQ products, including Pitmaster Mike’s BBQ Sauce and BBQ Spice Rub, of which guests will relish on their meaty treats!
Mike will teach you all you need to know
To top off this unforgettable experience, guests can choose a special spa treatment add-on for just €80, a third off the original price of €120! This will include a Seawater Massage Bath, where top to toe massage jets in the bath gently warm the muscles to improve circulation and reenergise, using seawater pumped directly from the Atlantic Ocean which is heated to a soothing 32 degrees. This is followed by either an ‘Urban Cleanse Facial’ or a ‘Skin Specific Facial’ to revive tired and decongested skin and leave guests with a glowing, clear complexion! ‘Get-up-and-go’ guests can choose from a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as whale watching, midnight sea-kayaking, deep-sea fishing, surfing and more.
Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa is located near Clonakilty, West Cork, and has been named Ireland’s Leading Spa Resort three times running at the World Travel Awards, in the Top 10 Hotels in Ireland by the 2013 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards and is the perfect place for people who value time together.
