Weeks after the release of already the worst movie of the year, Jack & Jill, star Adam Sandler evidently hasn't learned any lessons. Have a look at the risible trailer for 'That's My Boy'.
After the critical pummeling which Jack & Jill received - unsurprising, when you consider that Sandler played both title characters - the US comic is plunging new depths with his latest 'comedy', whose trailer debut comes a week after the actor received a record 11 Razzie nominations from the yearly 'Anti-Oscars'.
Titled 'That's My Boy', Sandler's latest effort from his Happy Madison production house casts the star alongside Hot Rod and Saturday Night Live actor Andy Samberg, who could be heading for a Razzie nomination this time next year despite his considerable talents.
Sandlers stars as a rubbish dad (with a really annoying voice, apparently) with money troubles, who decides to visit his estranged and highly successful son on the eve of his wedding and begins feuding with the bride. Obviously, hijinx ensue, or to be more accurate, jokes that involve a character having sex with a puked-on wedding dress. How lovely...
Though Sandler has been box office gold for his usual yearly summer comedies, just two of his last four ventures have made it over $100 million in the US, so there's strong evidence to suggest that his popularity is beginning to wane.
Could That's My Boy reverse the trend? We'll find out when the June US release comes to Irish cinemas rather belatedly on September 7.
