Feeling lower than usual this morning? Don’t be alarmed. Today is the most depressing day of the year, according to a top psychologist.
Monday 17 January is officially the most depressing day of the year – a claim by psychologist and author Dr Cliff Arnall who drew up a mathematical equation to pinpoint the exact day.
What’s worrying is that today is even more depressing than this day last year due to the economic crisis.
“Of particular concern to people I work with has been the threat of redundancy – contributing seriously to higher stress, increased alcohol consumption and worse sleep,” Dr Arnall told the Irish Daily Star.
