Epic martial arts flick The Man with the Iron Fists opens in Ireland this Friday, and to celebrate we’ve decided to take a look at five of the best fight movies ever made. We have included kick-ass clips for your viewing pleasure also. You’re welcome.
Released earlier this year, when The Raid was screened at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival in February there were genuine gasps from the audience. One of, if not THE best action movie ever made. The Raid has the most brutal martial arts sequences we’ve ever seen.
Tony Jaa became a superstar soon after the release of this endlessly impressive flick which centres on a guy who could slap Jason Bourne silly with a piano strapped to his back. Some absolutely amazing stunts – needs to be seen to be believed.
Kung Fu Hustle
There’s nothing worse than a martial arts flick that takes itself too seriously and this ridiculously fun effort really doesn’t. The fight scenes are as outlandish as they are fun and the whole thing is generally an absolute blast.
Enter the Dragon
What martial arts movie list would be complete without the inclusion of the late, great Bruce Lee; not only the biggest influence on modern action cinema there was, but one of the most charasmatic men to ever grace the big screen. This is his best, and sadly last, film.
A great movie that just happens to feature martial arts sequences or mixed martial arts rather (MMA), it sets itself up brilliantly for a rousing ending as two estranged brothers battle it out in the octagon to determine the winner of a mammoth prize.
