Fans at the Carling Cup will have a message for the brand new Sunday Sun
Liverpool will take on Cardiff today in the Carling Cup final, and their fans have united in opposition to the newly launched newspaper.

Liverpool will take on Cardiff today in the Carling Cup final, and their fans have united in opposition to the newly launched newspaper.

Liverpool’s return to Wembley for the first time since 1996 coincides with the launch of the Sunday edition of The Sun, effectively the re-animated corpse of the News Of The World.

But as we know, Liverpool fans have a long-standing boycott of The Sun because of their coverage of the Hillsborough disaster back in 1989. Despite moves by News International to heal the relationship, the Liverpool fans’ opinion of the paper have never wavered and they have seized on the opportunity today to make their feelings known.

This flag, courtesy of @valley_boys, shows that the Liverpool fans, in conjunction with Cardiff fans, will be making their opinion of the paper very clear to all tuning in today.

Will The Sun care? Probably not but kudos to the fans for making the flag.
