Enda Kenny has had quite a year thus far, but it looks like he might cap off a memorable 2012 with a Nobel Peace Prize.

While this may not match his personal accolades of being on the cover of TIME magazine or the Golden Victoria European of the Year Award, Kenny is expected to receive the award on behalf of the European Union.
The 27 nation EU was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October for its long-term role in re-uniting the continent and it appears that the Taoiseach will be one of the recipients who will accept the award at the gala event in Oslo on December 10th.
The award also comes with a financial boost, as the EU will receive just under €1 million for its peacekeeping and overseas achievements.
