Why not help out the Simon Community and join a fun run that is taking part in the Phoenix Park in Dublin this Saturday?
Thousands of runners are expected to descend on the Phoenix Park this Saturday to help raise vital funds for the Dublin Simon which will go directly to the provision of services throughout Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow. But don’t worry the race caters for everyone, so you can run, walk, skip or rollerblade your way to the finish line! Or just come along and be a spectator!
Budding athletes of all ages are invited along to take part on a new and shorter route, with medals for all school participants and a 800m run for 8-12 year olds or a 200m dash for the under 7s.
Special guests taking part on the day include; 98FM DJs Claire Solan and gossip girl Siobhán O’Connor, music from The Shoes to warm you up at the start line, and many more. There will also be pre & post race entertainment, face-painting and spot prizes for the funniest costumes - the sillier the better.
Children’s (under 12) races start at 9.30am and the main event kicks off @ 10.30am at the new location - Saint Mary’s Road inside the Chapelizod Gates. Late registration (€25) is available from 9.00am and all who register and take part will receive goodie bag including; Fun Run 2011 t-shirt and your own personal chip to time your race.
