Have you missed a reading recently? Did you get an estimated electricity bill? Well now you can personally manage your readings with the meter reading apps.
Is your electricity meter inside your house? If so, then no doubt you’ve missed the guy who comes to read how much electricity you've used since your last bill. If you did miss him (or her for that matter) then you’ll more than likely have received an estimated bill. But what the heck is that?
An estimated bill is calculated on your previous usage, so a bill with an ‘E’ beside your meter reading won’t be 100 per cent accurate. That means you could actually owe more than your bill says you do.
To stop this from happening frequently, all you have to do is download the free (yes, that’s right, FREE) Android or Apple app from their respective stores. The apps allow you to submit your own accurate meter readings directly to Electric Ireland. Now that’s what we call handy… because it’s a mobile phone app. No?
Anyway, you can do a lot with the nifty app. Maybe someone you know doesn't have an iPhone or Android phone yet, or they still haven't got to grips with the web, but they’d love to be able submit their own accurate readings. Well, this app will let you register their address, and as many others as you like, so you can submit their readings for them too. Handy if your parents are 'getting on' in life.

That’s not all the app has to offer. The app actually has all the emergency ESB Network contact details you could ever need preloaded, so if you need a service technician in a hurry you only need to go as far as your app.
To download the iPhone version of the app, search "Electric Ireland Meter Reading" on the iTunes App Store or click here.
To download the Android version of the app, search "Electric Ireland Meter Reading" on the Android Market or click here.
