Online shopping is one of the best ways to save time, money and effort. You’ll find that the majority of products are actually cheaper online compared to the physical form found in the shops. The only downfall here is not being able to see the product you want to buy in the flesh. However, that only really matters if you’re buying clothes and you’re not sure of your size. For food - well, most foods - and other products, online shopping is the way to go.
Instead of heading down to the supermarket to do your weekly shop, why not do it while you browse the likes of Reddit and JOE? Most major supermarkets have an online shopping facility and all you have to do is pick out what you want from a drop-down menu, pay for it with your card and wait for someone else to drop off the goods to your house, which is extremely handy. You’ll save yourself a boat lost of time and you won’t have to wander aimlessly though the supermarket as you try to avoid the female-hygiene aisle as if your life depended on it. This should give you some extra time to finally finish that novel you’ve been working on... or those shelves from Ikea.
Get up bright and early
Getting up for work in the morning is the bane of most people’s lives, but getting up at the crack of dawn does have its advantages. Okay, so you don’t have to get up before the cockerel, but even getting up an hour earlier will help to kick-start your day.
A 2008 study at the University of North Texas found that students who got up early actually got higher grades compared to students who stayed up late – the latter certainly weren’t doing some late night studying.
There are plenty of scientific studies that claim early risers are more likely to be productive and better problem-solvers compared to night owls, while other studies have shown that early risers have better jobs, better performance, greater success in their careers and earn higher wages. It might take some time to adjust your body clock, but it will be worth it in the long run. Just make sure to stay well away from the snooze button.
Make your morning commute work for you
Do you use public transport to get to work? If so then you probably think you’re wasting at least two hours of your day, everyday? Well, getting the train or bus into work doesn’t have to be a monotonous journey that leads you into eight hours of absolute boredom. Instead of falling asleep, listing to music or reading the same book for the third time, why not get some work done on the way in?
By doing some work on the bus or train you’ll be well prepared for the day that’s ahead and you’ll have some extra time to yourself when you get home. Just make sure you don’t accidentally miss your stop.
