One Direction stars fear they may have contracted Chlamydia… from a koala

Two members of clean living pop group One Direction fear that they may have contracted Chlamydia, but don't worry, they have a perfectly logical explanation for why it might have happened.

While it would be assumed that the fear of Chlamydia stems from the lads’ previously undocumented raucous off-stage behaviour, it turns out that two members of the band instead have a convenient cover story plausible excuse for the potential presence of the sexually transmitted disease.

While on a promotional tour of Australia recently, the band visited a koala sanctuary in Brisbane and according to reports, a three-year old koala named Kat urinated on band members Liam Payne and Harry Styles while they were holding him.

Four out of five koalas in Australia are believed to be infected with Chlamydia, a disease which can cause infertility and threatens to wipe out the koala population Down Under if a vaccine is not found.

Upon hearing those statistics, Payne and Stynes suddenly feared the worst, with Payne telling The Sun: "I'm genuinely scared. This is worrying. I'd have never picked the thing up if I'd known."

Transmission of Chlamydia from koala to human is not thought to be common, but it would appear as if the lads aren’t out of the woods just yet.

Thankfully for fans of the band’s Irish member, Niall Horan, the Mullingar native is not thought to be under threat of contracting the disease, but considering that he’s been flirting up a storm with the likes of Khloe Kardashian on the lads’ travels worldwide, he’d want to be careful lest he ends up in a similar predicament to his unfortunate bandmates.
