Video: Is this the definition of bad parenting?
A couple over in the US decided to publicly shame their daughter by making her hold a sign saying 'I sneak boys in at 3am' on a busy intersection. Is this an acceptable punishment or is it parenting gone too far?
A couple in Flagler County, Florida, were so fed up with their 15-year-old daughter’s behaviour that they forced her to hold a sign advertising what she did wrong at a busy intersection.
The girl’s sign reads, I sneak boys in at 3 a.m. and disrespect my parents and grandparents.
"We're trying to stop this before the courts have to do it themselves," says the girl’s father Mike, who seems like the type of ‘cool dude’ dad that everyone hates.
The news channel that broadcast the story didn’t use the girl’s last name, as they didn’t want her to be identified, but given that they show both of the parents’ faces and name the girl as Jasmine we’re pretty sure she won't hear the end of this just yet.
In fairness, the parents say they caught their 15-year-old lying, drinking and trying to sneak a boy into the house… which is what we assume most 15-year-old girls are up to anyway.
