Once upon a time, people used to get excited when the latest version of Internet Explorer was being released, but the love for IE has died off as of late and Microsoft has taken notice.
This cleaver little ad for the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer does one thing that most companies try to avoid – it’s takes the p*ss out of the product.
Throughout the video we see a troll in his windowless room, which is covered in fast-food trays, a two-monitor set up and everything else you’d associate with your everyday online troll. He’s content on putting IE10 down at every opportunity, until he finally finds something about it that he actually likes.
At the very end we see IE10’s new tag line, which simply reads: Progress. Comebacks come in many shapes and sizes.
In fairness, it’s a pretty good ad as it shows that Microsoft are confident that they’ve got something good on their hands. Another interesting aspect is the fact that they show very little of the browser in the ad, so if you want to find out more about it you’re going to have to download it for yourself.
