Brought to you by FraudSMART
If you've recently been itching to get moving, meet new people and learn something new, you're definitely not alone.
There's just something about September that makes us crave a fresh start, and lucky for you we've found an empowering event that promises to do exactly that - and you'll even get the chance to rub shoulders with Ireland's fastest man.
The FraudSMART x Sole Mates Red Flag Run promises to shine a light on the often-overlooked issue of money muling, where young people are being targeted to transfer criminal funds through their bank accounts. Kicking off at Nutbutter, Grand Canal Dock on Sunday 21st September, this race will be led by a mainstay of the Dublin running scene - Sole Mates - and hosted by Irish Olympian Israel Olatunde. In addition to your running shoes, comfy clothes and a bottle of water, make sure you have your camera at the ready as Israel will be up for meeting FraudSMART x Sole Mates Red Flag Run runners.
There will be goodie bags for the first 50 runners to arrive on the day, and, like all Sole Mates Runs, you can expect a buzzy atmosphere and a host of like-minded people to meet. But that's not all - in addition to the prospect of goodie bags and the opportunity to run with Ireland's fastest man, one lucky participant will walk away with a €250 gift card.
Thinking about registering for the FraudSMART x Sole Mates Red Flag Run? That's a green flag. However, we all have to stay vigilant for the red flags of money muling, which is the theme of this event. Runners on the day will hear from experts about how to protect themselves, stay on track and avoid the consequences of money muling, which range from travel bans (no J1 or Australian visa!) to prison time.
You can learn to spot all the red flags of money muling on FraudSMART's website right here and you can sign up for the FraudSMART x Sole Mates Red Flag Run right here.
