Derry Girls Season 3 to begin filming later this year

“Honestly the storylines in this series are the best we’ve ever done.”

Nicola Coughlan is going from strength to strength as a rising actress.

Most recently, she appeared in Season One of Bridgerton, one of Netflix’s most popular ever shows, and since it was renewed for a second season, we worried that she may become too busy for Derry Girls.

But luckily, she is going to return for the third season of Derry Girls, which she sounds quite excited about.

In a tweet posted over weekend, she said that filming of Season 3 is going to return this year.

“Covid has pushed back filming several times which has been so shite, but honestly the storylines in this series are the best we’ve ever done so I can’t tell you how worth it the wait will have been,” Coughlan said.

Production was supposed to begin in spring of last year, but was delayed due to Covid-19, and while we don’t know when exactly it will begin again this year, we do know that Coughlan will return as Clare Devlin, the most nervous and lovable teenager in Derry.

Bring it on.
