WATCH: Peter Jackson’s much-anticipated Beatles documentary looks like a treasure trove

Beatles Get Back documentary

The Fab Four as you’ve truly never seen them before…

Documentaries often boast about giving you an all-access, unprecedented look at their subject matter but in the case of a new Beatles documentary coming to Disney+ in November, it’s pretty spot-on.

Directed by Peter Jackson – who is becoming as renowned for his non-fiction work as he is for the likes of the Lord of the Rings trilogy – The Beatles: Get Back promises an exclusive window into the band and a genuine treasure trove for fans.

Made entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage, the film provides “the most intimate and honest glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George and Ringo ever filmed”.

Even the trailer alone – which you can view below – packs a lot in. It’s clear that Jackson has poured an awful lot of time and passion into the project, which exclusively hits Disney+ over three days – 25, 26 and 27 November.

Get Back will transport viewers back to January 1969, when the Fab Four attempted to construct 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in over two years.

As you might imagine, tensions frayed and the famous friends would clash. The docu-series is pieced together from almost 60 hours of unseen footage shot across 21 days by director Michael Lindsay-Hogg.

The series will also cherrypick from over 150 hours of unheard audio, most of which has been locked away in a vault for over half a century. Tantalising stuff, I think you’ll agree.
