4-year-old girl killed in Sligo caravan park named as Alice Dunleavy

Alice Dunleavy will be laid to rest on Monday morning.

The 4-year-old girl who was killed in a tragic accident in a Sligo caravan park has been named as Alice Kitty Dunleavy.

The young girl sadly passed away during a family holiday in Enniscrone on Friday, 5 August.

Alice Dunleavy hails from Ballina in Co. Mayo but was on holiday with her family in Sligo.

According to reports, the 4-year-old was hit by a vehicle at the caravan park.

Emergency services rushed her to University Hospital Sligo, but she was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí responded to the scene, but are treating the young girl’s death as a tragic accident and confirmed that the family is being offered support during this unthinkable time.

“A family liaison officer has been appointed to support the family at this time,” read a Garda statement.

Alice will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon at St. Muredach’s Cathedral in Ballina.

She is survived by her heartbroken parents John and Ann Marie, and her sisters Rose and April.
