Man arrested in connection to 2006 murder in Clare

The man was arrested on Tuesday morning in connection to the murder.

Gardaí investigating the 2006 murder of Aidan Kelly, which took place at Blackwater in Ardnacrusha in Clare, have confirmed today (Tuesday 10 September) that they have arrested a man in his late 30s in connection to the crime.

The man was arrested this morning, and is currently detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Aidan Kelly was shot a number of times on the night of 10 May 2006, and a firearm was recovered at the scene at the time.

The man arrested today is the first person to be arrested as part of this investigation.
