The juvenile was detained at Clondalkin Garda Station and has now been charged.

Another male juvenile has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a Garda vehicle was rammed during scenes of cars “driving erratically” in Dublin last month.

The incident took place in Cherry Orchard on the evening of Monday, 19 September. Shortly after 7.30pm, Gardaí responded to reports of dangerous driving.

Upon arrival, Gardaí observed two vehicles driving erratically. Both vehicles failed to stop when requested to do so by Gardaí and one vehicle collided with an official Garda vehicle.

Though no injuries were officially recorded, two Garda members involved in the incident subsequently reported as unfit for active duty.

In a new statement, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that a male juvenile was arrested on Tuesday (4 October) in line with an investigation into the endangerment of Gardaí and related incidents in the Cherry Orchard area on the evening in question.

This is the fifth arrest made as part of the probe.

The juvenile was detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and has now been charged.

He is set to appear before Dublin Children’s Court on Wednesday morning.
