Man charged after firearm and ammunition recovered in Dublin

A 31-year-old man will appear in court on Monday in connection with the seizure.

A 31-year-old man is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court on Monday morning (14 October) charged in connection with the recovery of a firearm and ammunition.

Shortly after 9pm on Saturday 5 October, Gardaí recovered a Beretta semi-automatic pistol and a number of rounds of ammunition at the Stardust Memorial Park in Coolock.

The seizure was carried out as part of ongoing operations targeting organised criminal groups operating on the north side of Dublin.

As part of an investigation into the incident, detectives arrested the aforementioned 31-year-old man on Friday 11 October.

He was detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, in Coolock Garda Station.

The man has been formally charged in connection with the investigation ahead of his court appearance on Monday.
