The incident occurred earlier this evening.
Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision which involved a Garda Roads Policing car and another vehicle.
The collision occurred at The Four Mile Bridge in Lissarda, Macroom, Cork at approximately 6pm.
The Garda male driver was the only occupant of the patrol car and he has since been moved to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not life threatening and no other person was injured in the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
