Man dies following collision between motorbike and truck in Dublin

Tragic news from Dublin this evening.

Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred earlier today in which a man in his mid-30s died.

The man died as a result of a collision between his motorcycle and a truck on the Naul Road (R108) in the Swords area of Dublin, at around 3pm this afternoon (21 May).

The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and his body has been removed to the Dublin City Mortuary in Whitehall where a post-mortem will take place. There were no injuries to the driver of the truck, according to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána.

Forensic Collision Investigators are currently at scene and the road is closed in both directions. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí in Swords are now appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make it available to Gardaí.
