‘I don’t think about it’
Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, has told fans to ‘mind their own business’ over their large age gap.
Hamrick claimed she’s not worried about their large age gap and says neither should anyone else.
There is a 44-year age gap between the 37-year-old ballerina and the 81-year-old Rolling Stones singer.
The pair met casually at first at a concert in Tokyo in 2014 and shared a quick fist bump.
Jagger was dating L’Wren Scott at the time who tragically took her own life a month after he met Hamrick.
The legendary musician opened up about how the grief affected him but by summer he was linked with Hamrick.
Hamrick said the age gap is never on her mind as she is more focused on the connection in their relationship.
In an interview with The Times, Hamrick said: “I don’t think about it. Everyone’s going to have their opinion. If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem, and you’re going to analyse it.”
Hamrick emphasized she is happy with her love life and that it doesn’t affect anyone else.
She continued: “They can mind their own business.”
The pair are both very focused on their individual crafts, the talented ballerina spoke of their appreciation over their shared artistry.
She said: “Mick is the perfect balance. He’s not a ballet dancer, but he is a dancer and a performer, and we understand each other’s worlds, yet we’re not in each other’s worlds.”
The pair have a son together, Deveraux ‘Devi’ Octavian Basil Jagger who was born in 2016.
