A sad day for Irish radio.
Legendary radio DJ Tony Fenton passed away today after a five-year long battle with cancer.
The 53-year-old held prime time slots on both 2fm and Today FM during his almost 30 year radio career.
His voice was so unique and no one could present music quite like him.
The tributes have been flowing in and the reaction is a real sign of the man and the effect he had on people’s lives.
Here are some of the touching messages from his radio colleagues and people who were lucky enough to cross Tony’s path down through the years.
We travelled radio road together since the 70s I’ve lost another great friend to the dreaded cancer so long #tonyfenton #brokenhearted #RIP
