What could be better than watching five people arguing over dinner? A lot of things, probably, but you have to admit, the drama on TV3’s Celebrity Come Dine With Me just keeps us hooked and it’s about to get even better in the final episode of the competition tomorrow night.
For the past week, viewers have been treated to verbal sparring between singer-songwriter Brian Kennedy and showbiz journalist Paul Martin. You can practically feel the tension in the air whenever these two are in the same room together – Kennedy even said from the outset that Martin would not be allowed into his house under normal circumstances. Harsh.
The Irish Times reports that the tension between the two really escalates in the finale when Kennedy throws a glass of red wine over the journalist. The attack is a retaliation after Paul Martin criticises the singer’s song ‘Put the Message in a Box’ calling it “the biggest pile of s**t you ever put out.”
Martin is only too happy to throw a glass of white wine over Kennedy to even the odds.
“It was a classless act by somebody who must be regarded as a classless man,” said Martin after the incident had taken place.
“He just went a bit too far tonight,” said Kennedy. “He had that smug look on his face and I said, ‘you know what would look good on you? My glass of red wine’.” Meow.
If watching two grown men fight like girls on national television is your cup of tea, don’t miss the final episode of Celebrity Come Dine With Me Ireland at 9pm on TV3 tomorrow night. If it’s any consolation, Rozanna Purcell also features on the show.
