It’s early days but we can’t see any keeper making an error as bad as the one Peter Cech just made against Greece.
The prospect of Czech Republic v Greece didn’t fill us with much hope before kick-off. But already the RTE show has gifted us the sight of Eamon Dunphy losing his cool with Giovanni Trapattoni and the game isn’t too bad either.
The Czechs went 2-0 up after just six minutes but Greece battled back, thanks to a bit more positivity and an absolutely shocking piece of net minding by Chelsea stopper Petr Cech.
He may have won the Champions League last month but Cech had a below-par season and this latest incident may have Roman Abramovich thinking it is time for a change between the Blues posts.
An aimless cross into the box should have been collected by Cech but instead he blundered into Tomas Sivok and the ball fell to Theofanis Gekas, who tucked the ball home.
As it stands the Czechs still lead so Cech’s blushes may be spared but the bar for poor keeping at this tournament has been set very low by this clip.
