Ahead of the big showdown between Kilbarrack United and Sheriff YC on Sunday, Ray Houghton headed out to visit both clubs.
On Sunday, holders Sheriff YC will play fellow Dubliners Kilbarrack United in the FAI Junior Cup final at Aviva Stadium. The game is the curtain raiser for Ireland’s friendly with Georgia and it should be a cracker.
Last week Irish soccer legend Ray Houghton paid a visit to both clubs to judge the mood, talk to the players and explain to them that they should savour and enjoy these sorts of days in their careers.
First he visited Kilbarrack where he spoke with John Meleady. Then a short bus ride later he was chatting to Sheriff’s Lee Murphy.
In between Ray visited local schools and fans and as you will see, there is a massive interest in the game in both communities.
