Aston Villa are to battle Liverpool in January for Tottenham’s Niko Kranjcar, according to reports in the English media.
The Croatian international joined Tottenham from troubled Portsmouth in 2009 for a few believed to be under £2 million.
He has struggled to make the Spurs team this season, however, thanks to the form of Gareth Bale and the signing of Rafael van der Vaart.
Monaco are also said to be monitoring his situation of the 26-year-old, who would cost somewhere in the region of £8 million.
