The extreme weather in parts of the UK has meant that some matches this weekend have fallen foul of the elements. Macclesfield are doing all they can to ensure their FA Cup tie goes ahead.

The heavy snow fall over the past week has played havoc with sporting fixtures across the country, and clubs are relying on volunteers to help out to ensure matches go ahead.
Last week Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio ordered pizzas for all the locals that helped at the County Ground, while today at Macclesfield more than 50 volunteers have been at the Moss Rose stadium since eight o’clock this morning lending a hand to clear the pitch of snow.

With Premier League side Wigan Athletic in town for today’s FA Cup tie, the League Two side will hope the game gets the green light, and it won’t be a lack of effort from all those involved with the club.
Macclesfield chief executive Jon Harris has said that today "is a chance for those players to earn themselves legendary status at the club".
The fans have already played their part.
