Yes, you read that headline correctly and yes, both names are in the right places. The African Cup of Nations is just full of surprises.
Ivory Coast were taking on Togo today and just about escaped with a win thanks to a late effort from Gervinho, who produced a finish (see video above) that will both amaze and frustrate Arsenal supporters on the basis that he has never seemed capable of anything similar since joining the club last season.
It would have been a lot less surprising had Gervinho been responsible for a truly terrible free-kick earlier in the game, but that (dis) honour fell to his far more illustrious colleague Didier Drogba, who kicked the ball so high and handsome that we expect it to land in the same vicinity as the infamous penalties taken by Charlie Adam, Sergio Ramos and Wayne Rooney in recent times.
