Ezio is looking a lot older and scraggier in the Constantinople-set Revelations, though that doesn’t stop him from wielding a historically inaccurate flamethrower.

Easily the highlight of last night’s Ubisoft E3 2011 press conference, the trilogy-closer of the Ezio Auditore Assassin’s Creed adventure looks a damn sight better than anyone could have imagined.

With beautiful fire effects, a deliciously inaccurate flamethrower weapon and the first glimpses a near-elderly Ezio, it’s amazing to see how much Ubisoft can challenge and exceed our expectations year upon year for the stealth franchise.

We’ve included two clips below – the first a stylised and extremely impressive trailer and the second an on-screen demonstration of the gameplay footage.

What do you think? Are Ubisoft going a bit far by releasing annual updates or does your first at Revelations have you chomping at the bit? Let us know in the comments section below.
