Snapchat have added a cool new feature to Ireland for the very first time

Despite missing out on Q3 earnings and reporting a slowing in their expected user growth, Snapchat is still a hugely popular app that lots of young people use on a daily basis.

Earlier this year, a report showed that 70% of Irish people who have the app, use it every single day.

Now, from Wednesday November 22, Snapchatters in Ireland can create and purchase geofilters straight from the Snapchat app on their phone for the first time.

This is how users in Ireland can create the geofilters on their Snapchat app.

Go to your Camera screen, and tap the icon in the top left to go to your profile
Tap the ⚙️ button to go to your Settings
Tap “On-Demand Geofilters”
Tap the button at the top right to create a new Geofilter
Choose what your Geofilter is for
Choose a template to get started
Edit your Geofilter ? You can tap to edit text that’s part of the template, or drag it to the bin. You can also add your own text and stickers
- Add Friendmoji ? You can also decorate your Geofilter with your and your friends’ Bitmoji. When adding a sticker, just tap the search bar and choose 2 friends you want to feature.
Tap the ☑️ button when you’re happy with your Geofilter
Name your Geofilter – Snapchat suggest using something that’s easy to recognise
Schedule your Geofilter ⏰ Choose a start time and an end time – your Geofilter can last anything from an hour to weeks or more!
Map out the area you want your Geofilter to cover ?️ Drag the points of your Geofence to change its shape, and pinch your fingers in and out to change its size. Your Geofilter’s price will automatically update based on how big your Geofence is
Double-check all the info on your Geofilter order
Tap “Submit” to send your Geofilter to Snapchat for approval ? Snapchat will notify you once it’s been approved – then all you need to do is confirm your payment
