“And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Two weeks on from the tragic death of Matthew Perry, his on-screen best friend Matt LeBlanc has shared a heartbreaking tribute online.

Best known for his role as the tragicomedy legend Chandler Bing on Friends, Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28, aged just 54.

He was laid to rest the following week in a small service which was attended to by relatives and cast mates before being buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Now, Matt LeBlanc, who of course played Perry’s on screen best friend, Joey Tribbiani, has paid tribute on Instagram.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, November 14, LeBlanc wrote:

“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.

“It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.

In a joint statement released days after after his death, the cast of Friends said they were “utterly devastated” by his passing, which they described as an “unfathomable loss”.

“We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able.

“For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
