Do you have what it takes?

Are you a budding singer who wants to make the step up from the shower? Do you make Michael Flatley look like an arthritic pensioner when you dance? Maybe you’re a musical genius who can play any instrument you pick up.

Well, this competition is for you. The Soloist 2017 is searching Ireland for the best talent in the land and they want you! Former Winners of The Soloist include Soprano Megan Walsh, Mezzo-Soprano Sarah Richmond, Tenor Eoin Hynes, Pianist Daniel Kearney and pop sensation Zena Donnelly. Watch Zena performer on this year’s The Voice Kids UK.

What could you win?

The winner of The Soloist 2017 will win €1,000, which is a pretty sweet prize by any standards! They’ll also get to perform with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland, which boasts a full symphony orchestra. They’ll perform to 40,000 in the RDS in Dublin, in the SSE Arena in Belfast, in the Echo Arena in Liverpool and more. So it’s a fantastic cash prize and a great opportunity to get some exposure for a budding showbiz career.

This is the competition’s fourth year and it’s a great way to get your name out there and finally see if you’ve got what it takes to make it. One of the other benefits of the competition is that it gives entrants some incredible performance opportunities and the chance to hone their craft in a competitive environment. If you have talent to burn, then this is the competition for you.

What do you need?

The competition is open to singers, dancers and musicians between the ages of 12 and 30. Every genre is considered, from pop to classical and from traditional to jazz. We want to see what you’ve got!

Contestants have to be available to perform on every weekend from mid-January 2018 to mid-March 2018. They must also be available for rehearsals, which will take place on Sundays in September, October, November and December 2017.
