New Irish comedy The Young Offenders hits cinemas on 16 September, but you lucky film fans can see it before then at a very special preview screening, taking place in Dublin on 8 September in Cineworld at 7.30pm (doors at 7pm).
Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders follows two inner-city teenagers from the Rebel County, Conor (Alex Murphy) and Jock (Chris Walley), as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke.
Just so they can do the right thing and return it to the proper authorities… or not.
Unfortunately for them, their dreams of becoming millionaires are dashed when they come across some problems along the way, including a relentless Garda hell-bent on revenge and a dodgy, nail gun-wielding drug dealer hot on their tails.
Directed by first-time feature writer/director, Peter Foott, and starring familiar faces Hilary Rose and PJ Gallagher alongside new Irish stars, the incredibly talented Alex Murphy and Chris Walley, The Young Offenders is most definitely worth your time and destined to become one of your favourite Irish comedies.
