Earlier this week, the Department of Foreign Affairs revealed that James and Emily were the most popular names for Irish girls and boys that were born in 2016. Over 17,000 passports were issued to children born in 2016, with 158 going to boys named James and 116 going to girls named Emily.

We have it on good authority that Mr McClean and Mrs Blunt were absolutely delighted to learn the news.
